Advice and guidance for parents and carers regarding the Special Educational Needs and Disability Reforms September 2014

What is the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer?
After recent consultation, the government has now put in place a number of new ideas to improve the early years and education system for parents of children who have a special educational need or disability.
Moving forwards local authorities and other services will set out a local offer of all services available to support children who are disabled or who have a special educational need and their families. The local offer will enable all families to understand what is available to them, who they can contact for support and what services they can access. This offer will include provision from birth up to 25 years.
